Prior to remodeling this spacious Broadmoor area home it had elements of both contemporary and traditional styles and everything in between; therefore, it had no identity of what style the home could or should be. We listened, the new owners wanted a casual, cozy home with clean lines and easy upkeep that would meet the needs of their young family’s busy lifestyle and yet harmonize with the beautiful surrounding foothills.
So, we started fresh in the kitchen with a lighter maple slab front cabinet and gunmetal cabinet hardware. We added a bold but balanced earthy grey quartz countertop along with a tumbled creamy multi-tone subway backsplash tile. The new matte black appliances, including a large gas range with a stylish hood complement nicely with the cabinetry. We removed the pendant lights over the new larger island and dinette chandelier for can lights to open up the space and provide better lighting. Another change was converting the bay window to a fully opening black framed 4-panel glass door with direct access to the back deck. A new multi-swing door added function and convenience to the new pantry/laundry room off the kitchen. The beverage center with new wood floating shelves not only adds additional storage but ease of access from all areas of the home.
