Bright and Colorful Kitchen Remodel!

Style and storage combined to rejuvenate this kitchen space in a split level home.

The old dark stained cabinets were showing their age and made this space feel small and dark while lacking functional storage space. We replaced the cabinetry with bright white modern shaker style cabinets extended to the ceiling to maximize space and provide an open airy feel. The new full height pantry cabinet with pull-out roll trays adds storage and completes the built in appliance look. We relocated the dishwasher in order to center the new sink on the window.  A re-design of the cabinet layout allowed us to get rid of three of the four blind corner areas and replace with an easy reach and two super susan cabinets. We trimmed back the wall by the range to wrap the kitchen around the corner and create a beverage center that doesn’t intrude on the prep and cooking space.  Also, a perfect spot for a couple of stained floating shelves.

Multi-toned glossy white subway backsplash tile is accented with a fun Misty Blue tile behind the range hood which ties into the gorgeous quartz countertops featuring tones of aqua/teal and black veins that add interest and movement against the white cabinetry and backsplash.

New wide plank LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring in a soft wood tone carries into all of the six other areas created a cohesive feel & look throughout that level of the home.

Removing the over-the-range microwave and relocating a new one under a wall cabinet allowed for a more functional stainless steel hood as well as an attractive focal point.  Matte black fixtures and black cabinet hardware add a sophisticated modern touch to this new kitchen.  Resurfaced ceiling without the popcorn texture and new slim LED ceiling can lights plus under cabinet lights brightens up the entire space.

We carried this remodel theme into the adjacent powder bathroom replacing the wall mount sink with a white vanity, matching quartz countertops and tile backsplash from the kitchen.  We also stayed with the black accent fixtures and even the same serene Tradewind paint color.

What a bright and joyful new kitchen and updated spaces for these homeowners to enjoy for many more years in their lovely home!
