Mountain Retreat Remodel

This mountain home is surrounded by gorgeous scenery and has some very charming features but it was time for an update! The homeowners wanted to maintain the rustic mountain feel and keep their vintage wood burning stove and exposed brick wall while bringing modern and stylish amenities into a chefs style kitchen. The old kitchen was broken up with a peninsula that didn’t allow flow among the prep and cooking areas. We removed the angled cabinets and removed the soffits to create a larger open space to allow a much more functional placement for the appliances and storage. Knotty Alder shaker style cabinets with a rustic stain and dark hardware give that wooded retreat feel while the neutral white counter tops and backsplash tile brighten the room making it feel open and airy. Cooking is a dream now with new double ovens, a gas cooktop with sleek black stainless hood and the wood burning stove all within reach of ample counter space on the new large island with a darker stained accent cabinet color. The new layout and raised ceiling height offer far more accessibility and storage. The coffee bar and breakfast nook is now a relaxing place to enjoy the scenery and wandering wildlife. New LVP flooring, fresh lighter paint, new doors and stair railing plus modern lighting tie it all together making this kitchen feel twice as big.
