Casual & Cozy Remodel!

Prior to remodeling this spacious Broadmoor area home it had elements of both contemporary and traditional styles and everything in between; therefore, it had no identity of what style the home could or should be.  We listened, the new owners wanted a casual, cozy home with clean lines and easy upkeep that would meet the needs of their young family’s busy lifestyle and yet harmonize with the beautiful surrounding foothills.

So, we started fresh in the kitchen with a lighter maple slab front cabinet and gunmetal cabinet hardware.  We added a bold but balanced earthy grey quartz countertop along with a tumbled creamy multi-tone subway backsplash tile. The new matte black appliances, including a large gas range with a stylish hood complement nicely with the cabinetry.  We removed the pendant lights over the new larger island and  dinette chandelier for can lights to open up the space and provide better lighting. Another change was converting the bay window to a fully opening black framed 4-panel glass door with direct access to the back deck. A new multi-swing door added function and convenience to the new pantry/laundry room off the kitchen. The beverage center with new wood floating shelves not only adds additional storage but ease of access from all areas of the home.

We certainly did not stop in the kitchen! This home has so many wonderful rooms and spaces that were in need of a cohesive theme and updates. We started with fresh new paint and all new lighter Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring throughout to brighten the entire home.  We painted the stair railing black and installed new carpet for the stairs and bedrooms.

The great room got a major upgrade with all new stacked stone running up the entire two-story vaulted wall with the tv mounted above the new wood mantle. We added faux wood beams along the ceiling and a new light fixture to add interest and character to the previously simple very large space.

Keeping with the flow on the main floor we re-worked the dining room with a lighter paint color and brought in more faux wood beams and new lighting.

Moving to the lower level with a partial walkout, we painted the outdated wood paneling a dark moody grey color  contrasting with the lighter floors for those comfortable cozy movie and entertaining nights.  The game room and home gym spaces were also given a face-lift.

We loved being able to make changes throughout this entire home to provide the homeowners with exactly the style they were hoping for!
