This charming 19th century Victorian farmhouse was in need of some modern renovations but still honoring the age and character of the home.
We reimagined the kitchen area with a whole new layout by removing the soffit to allow for tall cabinets and crown molding to the ceiling which makes the space feel large and adds more storage.
The old kitchen was cramped with all the prep, cooking and cleaning areas all on the same small wall with the refrigerator across in a side room. Now, we designed that side of the kitchen for cooking, food storage, and plenty of prep space on both sides of the new range. A long counter adjacent to the range has plenty of space with a built-in microwave drawer and a specific pot n’ pan cabinet. A corner super susan cabinet instead of a very hard to reach blind corner is great for additional food storage. The refrigerator in now in arms reach with a 24″ deep tall cabinet above it with trays dividers to store sheet trays, etc.
The old back entrance came into its own room next to the kitchen; so we incorporated this space by adding plenty of cabinets, a second super susan, a trash pullout cabinet plus a full pantry to allow for this side of the kitchen to be for cleaning and dish storage. We attached a cabinet panel onto the new dishwasher with a beautiful satin bronze pull to match the other pulls throughout the kitchen. A complimenting wood stained dish cabinet in the same finish as the custom wood range hood adds character and continuity.
Detailed white cabinets with a warm brown accent glaze and beautiful arabesque cream backsplash tile both compliment the gorgeous quartz countertops, which has just a touch of the plum tone to tie the unique deep plum cast iron farm sink and wall paint together. New satin bronze cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, new light fixtures and even the new matte black appliances with satin bronze hardware provide a pop of contrast to this overall classical farmhouse style.
