This townhouse had a kitchen and dining room broken up by a peninsula with a small island and a large under- utilized table with banquette seating. We removed the pony wall, table and seating to make room for a grand new kitchen that is now the star of the home!
We made use of the new wall space for the refrigerator and a drawer microwave, right by the refrigerator to grab those leftovers, and a nice side pantry with pull-out roll trays. A new hood & range along with a fun blueish-gray star patterned accent tile became a center focal point and the soft, light gray cabinets, some with reeded glass doors, created symmetry for a gorgeous focal point and so much storage. We designed a new beverage center on the opposite wall with accent navy cabinets to include a beverage cooler, navy sink, faucet and disposal for both everyday and entertaining functional use. The same reeded glass wall cabinets and accent star patterned tile tie into the perimeter cabinet/range wall.
The new expansive island with the rich navy accent cabinets has plenty of room for seating and prep, plus we added more functional cabinet storage under the island overhang. The eye catching navy sink along with the navy and gold veins in all the quartz countertops tie in with the satin bronze faucet, cabinet and appliance hardware adding a further “touch of elegance”.
By moving the refrigerator we were able to absorb the old indented space into the updated laundry/mud room which now has room for folding clothes, a clothes rod, a pull-out drying cabinet rack, bench seating, lots of new cabinets, has more than doubled this families storage space and much needed new function. The star pattern tile was carried into the floors with a reverse checkerboard pattern to “Welcome Them Home ” as they enter their new spaces from the garage.
Adding new updated LED can lights really shows off this larger, open, show-stopping transformation giving it a 5-star review!
